Philippe (drums) and the band had been collaborating online back and forth between Scotland and France during the Covid pandemic. So once travel was possible again, Philippe made the trip to Edinburgh and we recorded all the tracks mainly live over a period of a few days. The live capture was done with minimal microphones so the mix was also pretty simple. Beautiful performances from everyone involved and definitely one of my favourite drum sounds…just two ribbon mics. Don’t need any more when you’ve got such a great player to work with!
